Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Karl Argent got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rd minute, Tosh Cartwright made a precise shot to the right of Bob Aldridge. Sheerness FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 7 minutes into the match, Kurt Townson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bob Aldridge. Sheerness FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kurt Townson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Karl Argent took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Victor Rooney. Victor Rooney dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The audience was convinced that Karl Argent's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Victor Rooney was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Leon Rocastle kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Victor Rooney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joshua Faith, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Damian Wilkinson kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 25thth minute of the game Karl Argent who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but West Rainton's Victor Rooney was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sheerness FC's Bob Aldridge proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Sheerness FC from getting a goal against them. Matt McCormick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Rooney having to interfere. Matt McCormick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Karl Argent in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Victor Rooney saved West Rainton from getting behind. Alfred Broadhurst struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Victor Rooney didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sheerness FC. Joshua Faith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to West Rainton getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Leon Rocastle hit a great ball. If Joshua Faith had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 46 minutes, Karl Argent managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sheerness FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl Argent was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Karl Argent blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Victor Rooney having to make a save. Alfred Broadhurst sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th match minute, West Rainton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damian Wilkinson to maneuver through the defense. Karl Argent could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Victor Rooney made a huge save. West Rainton's Victor Rooney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl Argent in the 65th minute of play. Leon Rocastle hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. After having played for 69 minutes, Karl Argent managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sheerness FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl Argent was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Victor Rooney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl Argent, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. If Karl Argent had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfred Broadhurst recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joshua Faith received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Victor Rooney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 81 minutes, Les Seagrave managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sheerness FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Les Seagrave was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Matt McCormick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Victor Rooney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. West Rainton were victorious despite being under pressure from Sheerness FC for much of the match.
