In the 11th minute, Stephen Partridge reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jonny Hicks. The goal made the score 1-0. Jonny Hicks made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Damon Moyse sent off a good shot on target. Ludlow FC's Spike Collier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walter Atkinson in the 21st minute of play. Stephen Partridge kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ludlow FC's zone, Samuel Bennett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Spike Collier came out of the goal and Samuel Bennett tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 41 minutes in the game, Damon Moyse fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jonny Hicks having to interfere. Steve Woodcock hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Maradona FC's Samuel Bennett got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Walter Atkinson was the one to do the kick off. Ludlow FC's Spike Collier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Ludlow FC from getting a goal against them. Bobby Pitts, 76 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The supporters of Ludlow FC booed when Maradona FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stefan Moyse didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 80 minutes, Ron Tipton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maradona FC and the Ludlow FC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
