Sammy Mortimer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Blackburn, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After a rather tough play, Walmley AFC's Caleb Prior got a free kick in the 17th minute. Çağrı Bozlak was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 19th minute. Sleaford's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 尤朋鸿 recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sammy Mortimer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caleb Prior, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Çağrı Bozlak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Greg Paine having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by 尤朋鸿 in the 29th minute of play forced Walmley AFC's goalkeeper Greg Paine to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Çağrı Bozlak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Greg Paine having to interfere. Ivan Pennant hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

During the 80th minute of the match Damion Allott completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Damion Allott a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Greg Paine was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Despite being the better team, Sleaford failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
