Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tristan Southgate started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the game, Walter Atkinson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Alastair Hartley was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Uffington's zone, Walter Atkinson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alastair Hartley came out of the goal and Walter Atkinson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Uffington's Alastair Hartley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Bennett in the 7th minute of play. Darren Pennant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Jonny Hicks tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Uffington's Tristan Southgate pulled a muscle in his back after 14 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 14 minutes, Rowan Watson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maradona FC and the Uffington players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rowan Watson hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Darren Pennant fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonny Hicks having to interfere. Samuel Bennett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th minute Walter Atkinson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alastair Hartley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 26 in the game by Darren Pennant from a close distance when the talented Jonny Hicks managed to make a qualified save. Maradona FC's players were relieved. The audience thought a goal was coming when Darren Pennant got free with Jonny Hicks in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alastair Hartley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walter Atkinson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute, Darren Pennant hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 46 played minutes Maradona FC got a freekick which was hit by Stefan Moyse. After the first half Maradona FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Walter Atkinson made a kick off. Alastair Hartley was a little too slow when Samuel Bennett got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 0-2. Darren Pennant sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Samuel Bennett got free with Alastair Hartley in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Walter Atkinson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 72 minutes into the match, Uffington's goalkeeper Alastair Hartley had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Samuel Bennett. Walter Atkinson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Alastair Hartley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maradona FC's Walter Atkinson got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 79th minute, Walter Atkinson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Uffington's zone, Walter Atkinson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alastair Hartley came out of the goal and Walter Atkinson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Miles Ripley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walter Atkinson in the 93rd minute of play forced Uffington's goalkeeper Alastair Hartley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Maradona FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
