The supporters of Southeast Coast FC booed when Morpeth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tyrone Pallister didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 7 played minutes Morpeth got a freekick which was hit by Danny Appleton. Danny Appleton kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, Morpeth's goalkeeper Greg Hayes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by CJ Beverley. The audience was convinced that Roy Wellings's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Greg Hayes was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Max Linkletter was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 26th minute. Southeast Coast FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Southeast Coast FC's Roy Wellings pulled a muscle in his back after 27 minutes and couldn't finish the game. A collision led to Morpeth getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Dominic Speed hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute Jon Barraclough shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Bannister saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Greg Hayes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tommy Winstanley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jon Barraclough in the 39th minute of play forced Southeast Coast FC's goalkeeper Joseph Bannister to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Morpeth's Darius Symons suffered a concussion in the 39th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. After 40 played minutes Southeast Coast FC got a freekick which was hit by CJ Beverley. 42 minutes into the game, Jon Barraclough was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Morpeth's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Southeast Coast FC the free kick. In the 42nd minute, Jon Barraclough hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tommy Winstanley stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Joseph Bannister made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Danny Appleton sent off a good shot on target. Danny Appleton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Joseph Bannister tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joseph Bannister made an important save on a dangerous shot by Danny Appleton in the 58th minute. 64 minutes into the game, Doug Briant was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Southeast Coast FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Morpeth the free kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Danny Appleton got free with Joseph Bannister in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Greg Hayes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harvey Beasley in the 76th minute of the match. Joseph Bannister was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Danny Appleton showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 81 minute of play. Doug Briant got his second yellow card in the match during the 85th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Danny Appleton took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joseph Bannister. Joseph Bannister dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2.
