Adhiratha Vurghese stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bhalachandra Upadhyay's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. In the 11th minute Bhalachandra Upadhyay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adhiratha Vurghese saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fordham's goalkeeper Nayan Nahal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bhalachandra Upadhyay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adhiratha Vurghese having to interfere. Bittu Sangha hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. After having played for 20 minutes, Dharmaprabasa Sutantar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aldeburgh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dharmaprabasa Sutantar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sarabjot Rao in the 24th minute of play forced Fordham's goalkeeper Nayan Nahal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aldeburgh's Adhiratha Vurghese played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jayashree Sokhey in the 26th minute of play. Sarabjot Rao fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nayan Nahal having to interfere. In the 35th match minute, Fordham was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dyudhaman Fernandes to maneuver through the defense. After 37 minutes, Bittu Sangha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fordham and the Aldeburgh players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 36th minute, one of Fordham:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Fordham. When Aldeburgh's Sarabjot Rao in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Fordham's goalie prevented a goal. 46 minutes into the match, Rangpreet Pujari had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nayan Nahal. Fordham's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rangpreet Pujari was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sarabjot Rao made a kick off. Aldeburgh's Adhiratha Vurghese played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jayashree Sokhey in the 56th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Sarabjot Rao managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aldeburgh's supporters rose to their feet, but Sarabjot Rao was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nayan Nahal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nayan Nahal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sarabjot Rao, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cidambara Bhatt's late challenge caught a Fordham's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cidambara Bhatt helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Aldeburgh getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Cidambara Bhatt hit a great ball. In the 65th minute, Chunda Chamling sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Aldeburgh's Adhiratha Vurghese didn't even have to move. 69 minutes in the game, Jayashree Sokhey fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Adhiratha Vurghese having to interfere. Aldeburgh's defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when Bhalachandra Upadhyay scored to the left of an out of position Adhiratha Vurghese, making the score, 2-1. After a rather tough play, Fordham's Dyudhaman Fernandes got a free kick in the 73rd minute. When Sarabjot Rao came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Aldeburgh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sarabjot Rao couldn't finish the play. Aldeburgh's Adhiratha Vurghese played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jayashree Sokhey in the 80th minute of play. In the 82nd minute of the match, Jayashree Sokhey tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Adhiratha Vurghese saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a defensive mix-up in Fordham's zone, Prafel Chattha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nayan Nahal came out of the goal and Prafel Chattha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Aldeburgh's Adhiratha Vurghese got control of the ball when Bhalachandra Upadhyay tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Sarabjot Rao came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Aldeburgh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sarabjot Rao couldn't finish the play. Aldeburgh were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Fordham for a fine match.
