After a defensive mix-up in Fordham's zone, Rahul Bhatia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nayan Nahal came out of the goal and Rahul Bhatia tried to chip the ball over his head. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jayashree Sokhey stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cintamukta Dhotre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bhalachandra Upadhyay, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Cintamukta Dhotre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bhalachandra Upadhyay in the 53rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Newark's zone, Jayashree Sokhey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cintamukta Dhotre came out of the goal and Jayashree Sokhey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nayan Nahal made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Parvathi Sandhar sent off a good shot on target. Nayan Nahal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Parvathi Sandhar in the 59th minute. After a rather tough play, Fordham's Dyudhaman Fernandes got a free kick in the 59th minute. Nayan Nahal came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Newark's Parvathi Sandhar. But to his dismay, Parvathi Sandhar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Nayan Nahal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Parvathi Sandhar in the 69th minute. 74 minutes into the match, Fordham's goalkeeper Nayan Nahal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Parvathi Sandhar. In the 76th match minute, Fordham was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bhimagupta Lachenpa to maneuver through the defense. 77 minutes into the game, Newark's Parvathi Sandhar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nayan Nahal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. If Parvathi Sandhar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. In the 91stth minute of the game Rahul Bhatia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fordham's Nayan Nahal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nayan Nahal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rahul Bhatia in the 96th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Newark left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Fordham.
