Karampal Boparai took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jasminder Agarwal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 15 minutes into the match, Handsworth AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Katamaraja Khanna came free, but Anantya Gandhi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Adri Rai fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Handsworth AFC's protests and gave Adri Rai a yellow card for diving instead. In the 17th minute, Adri Rai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gaganaghosa Malhan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Louth's Katamaraja Khanna in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Handsworth AFC's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Louth booed when Handsworth AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adri Rai didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Gaganaghosa Malhan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Louth's supporters rose to their feet, but Gaganaghosa Malhan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anantya Gandhi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Karampal Boparai made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Through an outstanding action, after 37 minutes, Anantya Gandhi successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 41st minute, Gaganaghosa Malhan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jasminder Agarwal made a kick off. If Gaganaghosa Malhan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th match minute, Louth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ujjaldeep Anand to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Louth's zone, Jasminder Agarwal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karampal Boparai came out of the goal and Jasminder Agarwal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 75th minute, Gaganaghosa Malhan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anantya Gandhi was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaganaghosa Malhan in the 82nd minute of play forced Handsworth AFC's goalkeeper Anantya Gandhi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Gaganaghosa Malhan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Jasminder Agarwal took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Karampal Boparai to make any attempt to save it. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Handsworth AFC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
