After a defensive mix-up in Sowerby Bridge AFC's zone, Raghbir Varghese stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rajkumar Dalel came out of the goal and Raghbir Varghese tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 5 minutes into the game, Raghbir Varghese cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Rajkumar Dalel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 9 minutes into the match, Sowerby Bridge AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Raghbir Varghese came free, but Rajkumar Dalel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ranjit Bhattacharya's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jinraj Shetty read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. After having played for 19 minutes, Srinivasiah Khandelwal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sowerby Bridge AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Srinivasiah Khandelwal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rajkumar Dalel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jasalina Pinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Woodbridge were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jasalina Pinto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Raghbir Varghese had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jinraj Shetty showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Srinivasiah Khandelwal in the 56th minute of the match. Jinraj Shetty made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Srinivasiah Khandelwal in the 65th minute of play. Raghbir Varghese recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jasalina Pinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rajkumar Dalel having to interfere. In the 77th minute, Anangam Pabley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 84th minute Jasalina Pinto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rajkumar Dalel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ranjit Bhattacharya might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jinraj Shetty. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ranjit Bhattacharya ran back to his position shaking his head. If Ranjit Bhattacharya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Srinivasiah Khandelwal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ranjit Bhattacharya's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jinraj Shetty read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 98th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Woodbridge had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
