Dvarakadasa Aujla started the match with the kick off. Angabhu Sangma recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bhanucandra Kharka took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dvarakadasa Aujla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dharmottara Lachenpa in the 11th minute of play forced Samtop FC's goalkeeper Bhanucandra Kharka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute, Atisthira Krishnamurthy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Candravijaya Raj in the 17th minute of play forced Newton Heath FC's goalkeeper Jalasa Warwaha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Samtop FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dvarakadasa Aujla came free, but Bhanucandra Kharka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Candravijaya Raj couldn't finish the play. Samtop FC's Adityavarna Marak got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bhanucandra Kharka made an important save on a dangerous shot by Angabhu Sangma in the 48th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 52nd minute of the match Rajinderjeet Sangma sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bhanucandra Kharka skillfully saved the ball. Bhanucandra Kharka took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angabhu Sangma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 54 minutes into the game, Newton Heath FC's Angabhu Sangma nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bhanucandra Kharka made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. With a little luck, Newton Heath FC's Jalasa Warwaha got control of the ball when Atisthira Krishnamurthy tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 64 minutes, Rajinderjeet Sangma mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newton Heath FC and the Samtop FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Dvarakadasa Aujla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newton Heath FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dvarakadasa Aujla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bhanucandra Kharka breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Newton Heath FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Santokh Solanki hit a great ball. 81 minutes into the game, Devasura Sethi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Newton Heath FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Samtop FC the free kick. A collision led to Newton Heath FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Devasura Sethi hit a great ball. Dvarakadasa Aujla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Bhanucandra Kharka tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bhanucandra Kharka showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dvarakadasa Aujla in the 86th minute of the match. Bhanucandra Kharka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dvarakadasa Aujla, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. If Angabhu Sangma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
