Aparaditya Mathur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aparaditya Mathur made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anshuman Dhanoa in the 16th minute. In the 17th minute, Kulabhusana Bisla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ramleen Haito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aparaditya Mathur having to interfere. When Anshuman Dhanoa came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Great Totham FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anshuman Dhanoa couldn't finish the play. If Ramleen Haito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iravan Roy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kulabhusana Bisla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anshuman Dhanoa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Great Totham FC's Ramleen Haito got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Nirmla Dutt managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Lions's supporters rose to their feet, but Nirmla Dutt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iravan Roy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Iravan Roy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kulabhusana Bisla in the 48th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ramleen Haito was the one to do the kick off. Ramleen Haito's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aparaditya Mathur read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. When Great Totham FC's Ramleen Haito in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 80thth minute of the game Ramleen Haito who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but The Lions's Aparaditya Mathur was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jayprakash Ghai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iravan Roy having to interfere. Vidyahar Khahera charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vidyahar Khahera the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Great Totham FC's Vidyahar Khahera got a free kick in the 85th minute. 88 minutes had been played when some careless play by Great Totham FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Asirisa Chana was slow to take the kick. During this time The Lions's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to The Lions's Anukasa Dwivedi getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal.
