In the 18th minute Anandbhuj Sailo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Babulal Bhatia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anandbhuj Sailo in the 20th minute of play forced AS GUWAHATI's goalkeeper Babulal Bhatia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute Anandbhuj Sailo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Babulal Bhatia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 45 minutes, Brahmananda Vadhwa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AS GUWAHATI's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brahmananda Vadhwa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Prafel Yeddyurappa to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Anandbhuj Sailo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Evergreen United's supporters rose to their feet, but Anandbhuj Sailo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Babulal Bhatia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ramindar Anand was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Prafel Yeddyurappa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 60 minute of play. Aryasva Kulkarni hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aprakarsita Bhaura in the 88th minute of play forced AS GUWAHATI's goalkeeper Babulal Bhatia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
