With a little luck, India's Akama Bal got control of the ball when Hemanya Sudan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rameysh Kalirai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alin Toor, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After having played for 45 minutes, Devanirmita Ghoshal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Radway's supporters crossed their fingers, but Devanirmita Ghoshal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ajina Ghai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rameysh Kalirai having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half.
