Spectators: 7022 (Terracing: 5772, Seating: 1200, VIP seats: 50) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Prafel Yeddyurappa took the kick off in the first half of the match. Babulal Bhatia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shekar Denzongpa in the 3rd minute of the match. Abhishek Kapur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gunadhara Mallik having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Woolwich Rovers FC's zone, Abhishek Kapur stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gunadhara Mallik came out of the goal and Abhishek Kapur tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to AS GUWAHATI getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Abhishek Kapur hit a great ball. 16 minutes into the match, Brahmananda Vadhwa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gunadhara Mallik, 1-0. When Prafel Yeddyurappa came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the AS GUWAHATI fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Prafel Yeddyurappa couldn't finish the play. After 22 played minutes Woolwich Rovers FC got a freekick which was hit by Shekar Denzongpa. Gunadhara Mallik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Prafel Yeddyurappa, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Gunadhara Mallik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Prafel Yeddyurappa in the 27th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Prafel Yeddyurappa took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Gunadhara Mallik to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Woolwich Rovers FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Shekar Denzongpa hit a great ball. Gunadhara Mallik made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abhishek Kapur in the 32nd minute. In the 33rd minute Prafel Yeddyurappa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gunadhara Mallik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Abhishek Kapur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute, Shekar Denzongpa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Woolwich Rovers FC's Gunadhara Mallik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Prafel Yeddyurappa in the 43rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Prafel Yeddyurappa in the 44th minute of play forced Woolwich Rovers FC's goalkeeper Gunadhara Mallik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Prafel Yeddyurappa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Gunadhara Mallik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Abhishek Kapur in the 56th minute of play forced Woolwich Rovers FC's goalkeeper Gunadhara Mallik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Prafel Yeddyurappa managed to get in a good position for a shot. AS GUWAHATI's supporters rose to their feet, but Prafel Yeddyurappa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gunadhara Mallik breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 60th minute, Shekar Denzongpa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Prafel Yeddyurappa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Gunadhara Mallik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Woolwich Rovers FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AS GUWAHATI the free kick. In the 67th minute, Amad Tipnis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Prafel Yeddyurappa in the 68th minute of play forced Woolwich Rovers FC's goalkeeper Gunadhara Mallik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gunadhara Mallik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abhishek Kapur in the 77th minute of play. Prafel Yeddyurappa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gunadhara Mallik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abhishek Kapur, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd minute, Brahmananda Vadhwa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Woolwich Rovers FC's Gunadhara Mallik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Prafel Yeddyurappa in the 84th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Prafel Yeddyurappa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AS GUWAHATI fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. When Abhishek Kapur came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the AS GUWAHATI fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abhishek Kapur couldn't finish the play. When the referee ended the match the AS GUWAHATI players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
