After some fancy dribbling in the 2nd minute, Anandbhuj Sailo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Evergreen United's supporters rose to their feet, but Anandbhuj Sailo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gunadhara Mallik breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 4 played minutes Woolwich Rovers FC got a freekick which was hit by Anirjita Chakrabarty. Aprakarsita Bhaura kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Anandbhuj Sailo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 12 minutes of play, Evergreen United's Aprakarsita Bhaura made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gunadhara Mallik was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 15th minute Anandbhuj Sailo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gunadhara Mallik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Woolwich Rovers FC's Kishor Kaal got a free kick in the 17th minute. If Loganathan Varma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anandbhuj Sailo in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gunadhara Mallik prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With his leg Gunadhara Mallik managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when Evergreen United's Aprakarsita Bhaura fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 31st minute, Ravindiran Manjrekar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aprakarsita Bhaura could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Gunadhara Mallik made a huge save. If Aprakarsita Bhaura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 41 minutes, Amad Tipnis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Woolwich Rovers FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amad Tipnis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 43 minutes into the match, Evergreen United's Aprakarsita Bhaura sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gunadhara Mallik narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Woolwich Rovers FC's Kulatilaka Marathe got a free kick in the 46th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anandbhuj Sailo to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Anandbhuj Sailo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gunadhara Mallik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 53rd minute, Amad Tipnis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Shekar Denzongpa took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Ramindar Anand to make any attempt to save it. Aprakarsita Bhaura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Gunadhara Mallik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 66 minutes into the match, Woolwich Rovers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Amitaya Chahal came free, but Gunadhara Mallik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Anandbhuj Sailo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amitaya Chahal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gunadhara Mallik read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Woolwich Rovers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Anandbhuj Sailo came free, but Gunadhara Mallik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Anandbhuj Sailo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gunadhara Mallik was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Gunadhara Mallik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anandbhuj Sailo, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Evergreen United's Anandbhuj Sailo got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 84 minutes into the game, Anandbhuj Sailo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Gunadhara Mallik was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ravindiran Manjrekar's late challenge caught a Woolwich Rovers FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ravindiran Manjrekar helped the player get up and apologised. Gunadhara Mallik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aprakarsita Bhaura in the 95th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Evergreen United fully deserved thier win.
