In the 7th minute, Aparthiva Ahuja got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 9th match minute, Grimsby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Advitiya Johar to maneuver through the defense. Aparthiva Ahuja sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aparthiva Ahuja struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Hatha Das didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tavistock. Aparthiva Ahuja fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hatha Das having to interfere. Aparthiva Ahuja sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute Aparthiva Ahuja shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hatha Das saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Tavistock's Anukula Sran got control of the ball when Jivanatha Kapoor tried to sneak it across the goal line. Baru Sandhu kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Tavistock's goalkeeper Anukula Sran had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Narottam Mehra. Tavistock's Aparthiva Ahuja got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hatha Das showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anasin Shetty, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Aparthiva Ahuja recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Grimsby's zone, Birju Sethi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hatha Das came out of the goal and Birju Sethi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aparthiva Ahuja might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hatha Das. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aparthiva Ahuja ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Aparthiva Ahuja managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tavistock's supporters rose to their feet, but Aparthiva Ahuja was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hatha Das breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Amandev Mukhopadhyay charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amandev Mukhopadhyay the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Tavistock booed when Grimsby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amandev Mukhopadhyay didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Narottam Mehra to make the kick off. After 51 minutes, Jasjit Gasnette mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Grimsby and the Tavistock players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jasjit Gasnette kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Anukula Sran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Narottam Mehra in the 54th minute of the match. Anasin Shetty fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hatha Das having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, Amandev Mukhopadhyay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aparthiva Ahuja sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anasin Shetty received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Hatha Das tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Tavistock's goal looked a bit too open when Jivanatha Kapoor came free, but Anukula Sran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Harmandar Madhusudan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 93 played minutes Grimsby got a freekick which was hit by Amandev Mukhopadhyay. The Grimsby fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Tavistock were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
