If Jivanatha Kapoor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ramakrishna Maude hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. A collision led to Grimsby getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Taru Bajaj hit a great ball. Hatha Das made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ayobahu Ghai in the 12th minute of play. Jaipida Nahal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Narottam Mehra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 22 minutes into the match, Ariyappa Rahul had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hatha Das. Grimsby's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ariyappa Rahul was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Amitagati Sakhrie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Narottam Mehra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Grimsby's Hatha Das played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaipida Nahal in the 34th minute of play. Jasjit Gasnette hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Ayobahu Ghai took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 38th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hatha Das. Grimsby's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Hatha Das showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaipida Nahal, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Grimsby's zone, Ariyappa Rahul stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hatha Das came out of the goal and Ariyappa Rahul tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dadhyan Waraich kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Narottam Mehra to strike the kick off in the second half. After 59 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Grimsby! In the 61st minute there was a penalty for Penrith City. Ayobahu Ghai stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Hatha Das. 0-2. In the 64th minute Jaipida Nahal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hatha Das saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dadhyan Waraich during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 67th match minute, Grimsby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dadhyan Waraich to maneuver through the defense. Jaipida Nahal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hatha Das having to interfere. Grimsby's defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when Jaipida Nahal scored to the left of an out of position Hatha Das, making the score, 0-3. 75 minutes into the match, Penrith City's goal looked a bit too open when Jivanatha Kapoor came free, but Amitagati Sakhrie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Indrarajan Marathe hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. When Ariyappa Rahul came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Penrith City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ariyappa Rahul couldn't finish the play. Grimsby's defense didn't have a chance, in the 88th minute, when Jaipida Nahal scored to the left of an out of position Hatha Das, making the score, 0-4. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Penrith City walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
