Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Jasalina Sohal got the match started through his kick off. Fatehpal Agarwal stood somewhat misplaced when Jasalina Sohal came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 8 minute. Ahvana Pahwa's late challenge caught a Kerala FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ahvana Pahwa helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Sandown's Ahvana Pahwa got a free kick in the 11th minute. Avisa Choudhary recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 22nd minute Jasalina Sohal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fatehpal Agarwal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kerala FC's Balwant Chawla got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 28 minutes into the game, Isan Prewal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kerala FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sandown the free kick. Jasalina Sohal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sandown's Ahvana Pahwa got his second yellow card of the match in the 35th minute. The referee ordered Ahvana Pahwa off the ground. After 36 played minutes Sandown got a freekick which was hit by Ahvana Pahwa. In the 38th play minute Baladhika Lachenpa came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Fatehpal Agarwal. 2-0. When Sriram Basu came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Sandown fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sriram Basu couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Baladhika Lachenpa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sandown's supporters rose to their feet, but Baladhika Lachenpa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fatehpal Agarwal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baladhika Lachenpa got free with Fatehpal Agarwal in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The supporters of Sandown booed when Kerala FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isan Prewal didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 54th minute of the match Radhakrishnan Balil sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fatehpal Agarwal skillfully saved the ball. Baladhika Lachenpa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fatehpal Agarwal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jasalina Sohal in the 58th minute of the match. Fatehpal Agarwal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baladhika Lachenpa in the 60th minute of play. After having played for 61 minutes, Baladhika Lachenpa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sandown's supporters crossed their fingers, but Baladhika Lachenpa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Baladhika Lachenpa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sandown's supporters rose to their feet, but Baladhika Lachenpa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fatehpal Agarwal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 67 minutes into the game, Sandown's Baladhika Lachenpa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fatehpal Agarwal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Ashok Warwaha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Balwant Chawla in the 77th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iksuda Kahlon in the 83rd minute of play forced Kerala FC's goalkeeper Fatehpal Agarwal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute, Baladhika Lachenpa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Iksuda Kahlon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Fatehpal Agarwal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th match minute, Kerala FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ksayata Denhoy to maneuver through the defense. 89 minutes into the match, Kerala FC's goal looked a bit too open when Baladhika Lachenpa came free, but Fatehpal Agarwal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Kerala FC's zone, Jasalina Sohal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fatehpal Agarwal came out of the goal and Jasalina Sohal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Sandown had played much better football throughout.
