An unexpectedly hard shot by Avisa Choudhary in the 10th minute of play forced Market Drayton City's goalkeeper Aurasa Chattophadhyay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sultan Pujari's late challenge caught a Market Drayton City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sultan Pujari helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Market Drayton City booed when Kerala FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sultan Pujari didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dash Dey in the 24th minute of play forced Kerala FC's goalkeeper Fatehpal Agarwal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Dayaram Gupta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 33 minutes into the match, Market Drayton City's goal looked a bit too open when Avisa Choudhary came free, but Aurasa Chattophadhyay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amreet Vaidya hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Aurasa Chattophadhyay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Balwant Chawla in the 41st minute of play. After some careless play in the Market Drayton City defense, Balwant Chawla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aurasa Chattophadhyay. The Market Drayton City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aurasa Chattophadhyay should have stopped the shot. Aurasa Chattophadhyay stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Balwant Chawla's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Amreet Vaidya was the one to do the kick off. In the 62nd minute, Balwant Chawla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Balwant Chawla struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Aurasa Chattophadhyay didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kerala FC. It was beautiful to see Market Drayton City's Dayaram Gupta in action when he in the 76th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Fatehpal Agarwal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amreet Vaidya in the 78th minute of the match. If Balwant Chawla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Balwant Chawla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurasa Chattophadhyay having to interfere. Kerala FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
