An unexpectedly hard shot by Atula Rathod in the 17th minute of play forced Evington's goalkeeper Dhareshwar Chakma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dhareshwar Chakma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Atula Rathod in the 20th minute of play. In the 22nd minute Indrayatana Iyengar suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jagmohan Khahera during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Evington getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Jagmohan Khahera hit a great ball. Karma Raja took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 23rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dhareshwar Chakma. Evington's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 24 played minutes Evington got a freekick which was hit by Buddhagupta Kapoor. After 25 played minutes Evington got a freekick which was hit by Kaninaka Linyu. Dhareshwar Chakma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Parampal Janda in the 32nd minute of play. When the match clock showed 34 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Atula Rathod sped through Evington's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dhareshwar Chakma. Atula Rathod might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dhareshwar Chakma. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Atula Rathod ran back to his position shaking his head. Atula Rathod received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Dhareshwar Chakma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Parampal Janda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dhareshwar Chakma having to interfere. Aryadeva Krishnan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hansakaya Saxena was the one to do the kick off. If Aryadeva Krishnan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Evington's Asvarya Chaudhary got a free kick in the 56th minute. 58 minutes into the match, Kirkby in Ashfield's Atula Rathod sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dhareshwar Chakma narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dhareshwar Chakma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Atula Rathod, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 83 minutes, Atula Rathod managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kirkby in Ashfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Atula Rathod was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Parampal Janda kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. If Parampal Janda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the game, Hansakaya Saxena was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Evington's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kirkby in Ashfield the free kick. After a rather tough play, Evington's Hansakaya Saxena got a free kick in the 94th minute. Hansakaya Saxena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute.
