Great Addington

In the 3rd minute, Abhayda Bansal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 5th minute Santu Dhariwal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hariraja Shah saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hariraja Shah made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Aparaditya Mathur sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santu Dhariwal in the 12th minute of play forced Shobdon's goalkeeper Hariraja Shah to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Shobdon's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Abhayda Bansal in the 15th minute. Hariraja Shah showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santu Dhariwal in the 19th minute of the match. Hariraja Shah made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Aparaditya Mathur sent off a good shot on target. Great Addington's Birindar Swamy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaskaran Gandhi in the 25th minute of play. After 27 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Great Addington! After 32nd play minutes Santu Dhariwal shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Hariraja Shah and just under the crossbar into goal. Hariraja Shah made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santu Dhariwal in the 37th minute of play. Alipriya Pinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 41 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Shobdon! 45 minutes into the match, Shobdon's goal looked a bit too open when Santu Dhariwal came free, but Hariraja Shah reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Santu Dhariwal made a kick off. The supporters of Shobdon booed when Great Addington was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kuntaka Chamling didn't get a good kick on the ball. Birindar Swamy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alipriya Pinto in the 57th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santu Dhariwal in the 61st minute of play forced Shobdon's goalkeeper Hariraja Shah to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Aparaditya Mathur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Agnisoma Rane in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hariraja Shah saved Shobdon from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Shobdon's Alipriya Pinto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Birindar Swamy. That made the score 2-1 after 69 minutes of play. Aparaditya Mathur scored 3-1 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hariraja Shah, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 77thth minute of the game Jaskaran Gandhi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Great Addington's Birindar Swamy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 77 minutes, Sachleen Maude mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Great Addington and the Shobdon players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sachleen Maude hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Great Addington's Birindar Swamy got control of the ball when Jaskaran Gandhi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hariraja Shah showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santu Dhariwal, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Abhimoda Arneja was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 91 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 90th minute of the game. One of Shobdon:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Great Addington:s goal. The referee gave Great Addington a penalty, 93 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Santu Dhariwal, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Shobdon's Hariraja Shah. 4-1. Great Addington were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Shobdon for a fine match.
