Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Welford's Anutosa Paranjpe started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Agnisika Chaddha ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Honna Gopalkrishnan was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Anutosa Paranjpe might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Honna Gopalkrishnan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anutosa Paranjpe ran back to his position shaking his head. Motilal Laungani kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Anutosa Paranjpe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honna Gopalkrishnan having to interfere. Formby's Dayasagara Varma shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 16th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Harasvarupa Baweja but with some difficulty. If Agnisika Chaddha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 22 minutes into the match, Welford's goalkeeper Harasvarupa Baweja had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gagan Matharu. After a rather tough play, Formby's Aruni Reel got a free kick in the 23rd minute. A collision led to Welford getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Hiryur Matharu hit a great ball. 34 minutes into the match, Formby's goal looked a bit too open when Anutosa Paranjpe came free, but Honna Gopalkrishnan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 38th minute of the game. One of Welford:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Formby:s goal. The referee gave Formby a penalty, 40 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Aruni Reel, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Welford's Harasvarupa Baweja. 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jaisisa Bhatti stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kavisvara Ahuja could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Honna Gopalkrishnan made a huge save. Agnisika Chaddha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Honna Gopalkrishnan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Agnisika Chaddha scored 1-2 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Honna Gopalkrishnan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 69 played minutes, Formby's Dayasagara Varma shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Harasvarupa Baweja came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Formby reached it. If Agnisika Chaddha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Welford's Harasvarupa Baweja played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaisisa Bhatti in the 73rd minute of play. Aruni Reel took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 74th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Harasvarupa Baweja. Welford's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Formby's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Aruni Reel in the 76th minute. Dayasagara Varma charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dayasagara Varma the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dayasagara Varma hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. When Jatya Gugral came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Welford fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jatya Gugral couldn't finish the play. After 79 minutes of play, Welford's Agnisika Chaddha made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Honna Gopalkrishnan was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Gagan Matharu in the 84th minute of play forced Welford's goalkeeper Harasvarupa Baweja to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Akama Shetty fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Welford's protests and gave Akama Shetty a yellow card for diving instead. 90 minutes into the match, Jaisisa Bhatti notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Welford's Harasvarupa Baweja. Harasvarupa Baweja was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Agnisika Chaddha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Honna Gopalkrishnan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Formby fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Welford were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
