Akal Reddy hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. HAMMER's Caruhasan Ghoshal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaisisa Bhatti in the 15th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Sobha Mandal made a precise shot to the right of Honna Gopalkrishnan. Formby's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Anasin Phom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honna Gopalkrishnan having to interfere. In the 28thth minute of the game Atamas Dambria who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Formby's Honna Gopalkrishnan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Atamas Dambria, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 30 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Honna Gopalkrishnan was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Formby's Honna Gopalkrishnan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Atamas Dambria in the 34th minute of play. In the 35th match minute, HAMMER was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Atamas Dambria to maneuver through the defense. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Honna Gopalkrishnan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Formby's Akal Reddy got a free kick in the 44th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Sobha Mandal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Honna Gopalkrishnan made a huge save. After 54 minutes of play, HAMMER's Sobha Mandal made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Honna Gopalkrishnan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jugala Anand hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Formby's zone, Atamas Dambria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Honna Gopalkrishnan came out of the goal and Atamas Dambria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Sobha Mandal came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the HAMMER fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sobha Mandal couldn't finish the play. When the match was over HAMMER could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Formby throughout the match.
