Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Anutosa Paranjpe got the match started through his kick off. Didhitimat Gandhi might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Harasvarupa Baweja. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Didhitimat Gandhi ran back to his position shaking his head. Jivaratna Beasley came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Welford's Agnisika Chaddha. But to his dismay, Agnisika Chaddha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 21 minutes into the match, Welford's goal looked a bit too open when Didhitimat Gandhi came free, but Harasvarupa Baweja reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Harasvarupa Baweja made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hridayangam Patiala in the 23rd minute. Jivaratna Beasley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anutosa Paranjpe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jivaratna Beasley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anutosa Paranjpe in the 28th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute Didhitimat Gandhi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harasvarupa Baweja saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the game, Ili Shindi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Welford's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Holton-le-Clay the free kick. A collision led to Welford getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Ili Shindi hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Harpratap Uppal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Holton-le-Clay's supporters rose to their feet, but Harpratap Uppal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Harasvarupa Baweja breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 42ndth minute of the game Anutosa Paranjpe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Holton-le-Clay's Jivaratna Beasley was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Harasvarupa Baweja made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Didhitimat Gandhi in the 45th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Didhitimat Gandhi to make the kick off. Jivaratna Beasley made an important save on a dangerous shot by Harsajjan Sran in the 51st minute. 53 minutes into the match, Welford's goal looked a bit too open when Didhitimat Gandhi came free, but Harasvarupa Baweja reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Welford's Kavisvara Ahuja got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Welford's zone, Hridayangam Patiala stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Harasvarupa Baweja came out of the goal and Hridayangam Patiala tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 60 minutes, Didhitimat Gandhi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Holton-le-Clay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Didhitimat Gandhi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Anutosa Paranjpe came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Welford fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anutosa Paranjpe couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Agnisika Chaddha got free with Jivaratna Beasley in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jivaratna Beasley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anutosa Paranjpe, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Harsajjan Sran during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 72 played minutes Welford got a freekick which was hit by Harsajjan Sran. 74 minutes into the match, Welford's goal looked a bit too open when Hridayangam Patiala came free, but Harasvarupa Baweja reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 74th match minute, Welford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kavisvara Ahuja to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute, Hridayangam Patiala got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 76th match minute, Welford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kavisvara Ahuja to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Didhitimat Gandhi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Agnisika Chaddha struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Jivaratna Beasley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Welford. 87 minutes into the match, Anutosa Paranjpe notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Holton-le-Clay's Jivaratna Beasley. Jivaratna Beasley was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 90th match minute, Welford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ili Shindi to maneuver through the defense. Hridayangam Patiala recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jivaratna Beasley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anutosa Paranjpe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Welford played a much better game than Holton-le-Clay and deserved their victory. The Holton-le-Clay players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
