Ardra Reel came out and tried to block the shot, but Divyaprabhava Bhaura slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 4th minute. 8 minutes into the match, Southend's goal looked a bit too open when Divyaprabhava Bhaura came free, but Ardra Reel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Southend's Hita Jha got a free kick in the 9th minute. Ardra Reel was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Candrabhasu Sangma. Ardra Reel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Divyaprabhava Bhaura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Divyaprabhava Bhaura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Ardra Reel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Hariharan Akhtar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th minute, Whaplode's Candrabhasu Sangma ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ardra Reel. Ardra Reel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. 21 minutes into the match, Southend's goal looked a bit too open when Divyaprabhava Bhaura came free, but Ardra Reel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hita Jha hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. When Anilabha Vishwakarma came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Whaplode fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anilabha Vishwakarma couldn't finish the play. Api Deshmukh charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Api Deshmukh the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Anilabha Vishwakarma's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ardra Reel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Bhrajathu Kelkar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 34th minute of the match, Anilabha Vishwakarma got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ardra Reel was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Ardra Reel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Divyaprabhava Bhaura in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Anilabha Vishwakarma reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ardra Reel. The goal made the score 3-0. Ardra Reel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Divyaprabhava Bhaura in the 44th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Anilabha Vishwakarma managed to get in a good position for a shot. Whaplode's supporters rose to their feet, but Anilabha Vishwakarma was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ardra Reel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anilabha Vishwakarma made a kick off. Bhrajathu Kelkar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Javagal Sahota tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ardra Reel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Divyaprabhava Bhaura's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Ardra Reel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anilabha Vishwakarma, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After some careless play in the Whaplode defense, Bhrajathu Kelkar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Javagal Sahota. The Whaplode fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Javagal Sahota should have stopped the shot. In the 67th match minute, Southend was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Api Deshmukh to maneuver through the defense. In the 72nd minute, Southend's Bhrajathu Kelkar ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Javagal Sahota. Javagal Sahota yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-2. Javagal Sahota made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bhrajathu Kelkar in the 77th minute. If Aryaman Khanna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Divyaprabhava Bhaura in the 80th minute of play forced Southend's goalkeeper Ardra Reel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Whaplode's Anilabha Vishwakarma got a free kick in the 82nd minute. In the 85th minute Aryaman Khanna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Javagal Sahota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Javagal Sahota made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bhrajathu Kelkar in the 86th minute. The audience was convinced that Anilabha Vishwakarma's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ardra Reel was relentless in the 88th minute of the game.
