Southend's Ardra Reel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jatya Gugral in the 8th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, Southend's Bhrajathu Kelkar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Harasvarupa Baweja narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 14th minute Hita Jha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harasvarupa Baweja saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ardra Reel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jatya Gugral's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Jatya Gugral's late challenge caught a Southend's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jatya Gugral helped the player get up and apologised. Jatya Gugral kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Agnisika Chaddha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 25th minute Hita Jha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harasvarupa Baweja saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hiryur Matharu kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 28th minute, Kavisvara Ahuja hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Bhrajathu Kelkar came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Southend fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bhrajathu Kelkar couldn't finish the play. Ardra Reel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jatya Gugral, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. 43 minutes into the game, Agnisika Chaddha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Ardra Reel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Aryaman Khanna made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Jatya Gugral's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ardra Reel was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. 59 minutes into the match, Welford's goalkeeper Harasvarupa Baweja had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bhrajathu Kelkar. If Bhrajathu Kelkar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd match minute, Southend was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bhrajathu Kelkar to maneuver through the defense. Ili Shindi hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After 66 minutes of play, Southend's Bhrajathu Kelkar made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Harasvarupa Baweja was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 71 minutes, Bhrajathu Kelkar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Southend and the Welford players grew even worse after the yellow card. Aryaman Khanna kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aryaman Khanna in the 78th minute of play forced Welford's goalkeeper Harasvarupa Baweja to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ardra Reel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jatya Gugral, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. After 97 played minutes, Welford's Aryabhata Khandelwal shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ardra Reel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Welford reached it. Southend's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
