In the 16th minute Aryabhata Khandelwal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caruhasan Ghoshal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 20 minutes, Caruhasan Ghoshal successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 24th play minutes Atamas Dambria shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Harasvarupa Baweja and just under the crossbar into goal. After 28 minutes, Atamas Dambria made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Welford's Harasvarupa Baweja tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. HAMMER's Caruhasan Ghoshal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aryabhata Khandelwal in the 32nd minute of play. With 39 minutes on the clock, Avijnatagati Dambria commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 39 minutes into the game, one of HAMMER:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Harasvarupa Baweja came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by HAMMER's Sobha Mandal. But to his dismay, Sobha Mandal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. After the first half HAMMER were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 51 minutes of play, HAMMER's Sobha Mandal made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Harasvarupa Baweja was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 68th minute, Jugala Anand hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Harasvarupa Baweja made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sobha Mandal in the 70th minute. Aryabhata Khandelwal hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Caruhasan Ghoshal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anutosa Paranjpe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caruhasan Ghoshal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anutosa Paranjpe in the 84th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Agnisika Chaddha in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Caruhasan Ghoshal saved HAMMER from getting behind. Caruhasan Ghoshal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anutosa Paranjpe went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-6 was the resulting score. In the 95th minute, Anutosa Paranjpe made a precise shot to the right of Caruhasan Ghoshal. HAMMER's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-6. Although Welford had been in control for most of the match, HAMMER still came away with the win.
