Narinderpal Deol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Phillip Haming hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in NAGALAND FC's zone, Candravijaya Moktan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Narinderpal Deol came out of the goal and Candravijaya Moktan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 15 minutes into the match, NAGALAND FC's goal looked a bit too open when Swapan Chattha came free, but Narinderpal Deol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Godalming City's Ajitanatha Saxena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lall Chohan in the 17th minute of play. In the 25th minute, Phillip Haming hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amarajota Jain got free with Ajitanatha Saxena in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ajitanatha Saxena was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lall Chohan showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 31 minute of play. A collision led to NAGALAND FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Addana Sodhi hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lall Chohan in the 38th minute of play forced Godalming City's goalkeeper Ajitanatha Saxena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ajitanatha Saxena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amarajota Jain in the 39th minute. In the 44th match minute, NAGALAND FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paramdesh Ayer to maneuver through the defense. If Swapan Chattha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Swapan Chattha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of NAGALAND FC booed when Godalming City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phillip Haming didn't get a good kick on the ball. 58 minutes into the match, NAGALAND FC's Lall Chohan broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After some careless play in the Godalming City defense, Lall Chohan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ajitanatha Saxena. The Godalming City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ajitanatha Saxena should have stopped the shot. 66 minutes into the match, Godalming City's goal looked a bit too open when Lall Chohan came free, but Ajitanatha Saxena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amarajota Jain in the 68th minute of play forced Godalming City's goalkeeper Ajitanatha Saxena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ajitanatha Saxena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vasantha Rathod in the 70th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Swapan Chattha in the 73rd minute of play forced NAGALAND FC's goalkeeper Narinderpal Deol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Lall Chohan notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Godalming City's Ajitanatha Saxena. Ajitanatha Saxena was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ajitanatha Saxena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lall Chohan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of NAGALAND FC booed when Godalming City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phillip Haming didn't get a good kick on the ball. 81 minutes into the game, Divyendu Sokhey was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. NAGALAND FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Godalming City the free kick. A collision led to NAGALAND FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Divyendu Sokhey hit a great ball. Indrayan Bhardwaj blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ajitanatha Saxena having to make a save. Amarajota Jain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ajitanatha Saxena having to interfere. In the 89th minute Lall Chohan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ajitanatha Saxena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Godalming City's Ajitanatha Saxena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vasantha Rathod in the 91st minute of play. Godalming City were furious when Augusto Pimenta was red carded, 92 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 93 played minutes Godalming City got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Pimenta. Lall Chohan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 96 minutes into the match, Godalming City's goal looked a bit too open when Lall Chohan came free, but Ajitanatha Saxena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee ended the match the NAGALAND FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
