The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ajitanatha Saxena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abhikhyana Dwivedi in the 4th minute of play. 5 minutes into the game, Ekantin Hora cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ajitanatha Saxena was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Millbrook booed when Godalming City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Khanjana Mahalingappa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 10 minutes into the game, Millbrook's Abhikhyana Dwivedi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ajitanatha Saxena made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aksaka Wahlia in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ajitanatha Saxena prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 16th minute of the game. One of Godalming City:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Millbrook:s goal. If Khanjana Mahalingappa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Candravijaya Moktan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saihajleen Dasgupta having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Maciej Gajewski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Saihajleen Dasgupta was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Maciej Gajewski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Saihajleen Dasgupta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Godalming City's Ajitanatha Saxena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Godalming City from getting a goal against them. Aksaka Wahlia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Ajitanatha Saxena made a huge save. 79 minutes into the match, Godalming City's goalkeeper Ajitanatha Saxena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aksaka Wahlia. 80 minutes into the match, Godalming City's goal looked a bit too open when Ekantin Hora came free, but Ajitanatha Saxena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abhikhyana Dwivedi hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. 84 minutes into the match, Abhikhyana Dwivedi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ajitanatha Saxena. Godalming City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Abhikhyana Dwivedi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. Abhikhyana Dwivedi had several of the Godalming City's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 88 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-6 score and a disappointed Ajitanatha Saxena as he didn't even see the shot coming. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aksaka Wahlia got free with Ajitanatha Saxena in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vasan Janda struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Saihajleen Dasgupta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Godalming City. Millbrook played a much better game than Godalming City and deserved their victory. The Godalming City players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
