The supporters of Nagpur FC booed when Shireoaks was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aleksandr Bessmertnyi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ciro Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Batistuta in the 8th minute of play. 8 minutes into the game, Shireoaks's Gabriel Batistuta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ciro Varela made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Atisaya Parekh kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Nagpur FC's zone, Gabriel Batistuta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciro Varela came out of the goal and Gabriel Batistuta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 15th minute, Jeremias Jämsen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gabriel Batistuta in the 17thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ciro Varela, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Albino Jordy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciro Varela having to interfere. Ciro Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel Batistuta in the 30th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Shireoaks's Bhaskaran Padda got a free kick in the 31st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Shireoaks's zone, Anhu Bajwa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Acananas Bhaura came out of the goal and Anhu Bajwa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Nagpur FC's Sukhjinder Mandal got a free kick in the 40th minute. Gabriel Batistuta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Shireoaks's Jeremias Jämsen suffered a sore thigh after 43 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 45th minute, Jagatjita Bhambra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Atisaya Parekh hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gabriel Batistuta to make the kick off. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Nagpur FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bhadrajatika Saxena was slow to take the kick. During this time Shireoaks's players had a chance to rest. 55 minutes into the game, Usem Mahdoufi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Shireoaks's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nagpur FC the free kick. Usem Mahdoufi kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. The long shot by Anhu Bajwa in the 55th minute really tested Acananas Bhaura's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Acananas Bhaura showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Atisaya Parekh, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 62nd minute Atisaya Parekh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Acananas Bhaura saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Atisaya Parekh in the 63rd minute of play forced Shireoaks's goalkeeper Acananas Bhaura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Acananas Bhaura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anhu Bajwa in the 91st minute of play. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Atisaya Parekh took a quick shot and it went in 4-1 without a chance for Acananas Bhaura to make any attempt to save it. Nagpur FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
