Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Huang Xiong made the kick off in the second half. But to his dismay, Thanan Javaus quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-6. Knattspyrnufélag Akureyri made a substitution. Warayu Plpl replaced Piyapong Jamjai. Hamed Velidović was a little too slow when Domenec Cediel got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 78th minute. The score was now 2-7. After 84 played minutes ŦƗǤ€ŘŞ got a freekick which was hit by Maxim Curăreanu. The audience thought a goal was coming when Domenec Cediel got free with Hamed Velidović in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pikanate Savetvet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Huang Xiong in the 92nd minute of play. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Knattspyrnufélag Akureyri's goalkeeper Pikanate Savetvet, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Knattspyrnufélag Akureyri's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
