Paiboon Phatthanasing was out of position in the 4 minute of play, and Chanboon Saedan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Chanboon Saedan really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 7th minute, Olympique de Marseille's Thanasit Morpeak dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Paiboon Phatthanasing showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sadayut Thanateerasud in the 10th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Chiang Mai Football Club's goalkeeper Paiboon Phatthanasing had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sadayut Thanateerasud. Sadayut Thanateerasud could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Paiboon Phatthanasing made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sadayut Thanateerasud got free with Paiboon Phatthanasing in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Paiboon Phatthanasing didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pongsakorn Pimphapun went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. After having played for 17 minutes, Thanasit Morpeak managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Olympique de Marseille's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thanasit Morpeak was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 18th minute, Olympique de Marseille's Chanboon Saedan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Paiboon Phatthanasing. Paiboon Phatthanasing yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. 21 minutes into the game, Chanboon Saedan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Paiboon Phatthanasing was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Chiang Mai Football Club's Paiboon Phatthanasing proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Chiang Mai Football Club from getting a goal against them. Paiboon Phatthanasing made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Sadayut Thanateerasud sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Chiang Mai Football Club's Paiboon Phatthanasing got control of the ball when Chanboon Saedan tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Chiang Mai Football Club defense, Thanasit Morpeak kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paiboon Phatthanasing. The Chiang Mai Football Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paiboon Phatthanasing should have stopped the shot. 36 minutes into the game, Olympique de Marseille's Sadayut Thanateerasud nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paiboon Phatthanasing made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. After 38 played minutes Chiang Mai Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Wisan Hangmui. Pongsakorn Pimphapun's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Paiboon Phatthanasing firmly grabbed it by the left post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 9-0.

The wind increased when Chanboon Saedan made the kick off in the second half. Paiboon Phatthanasing didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Chanboon Saedan went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 10-0 was the resulting score. Aekkapong Luabunnum sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 57th minute, Pongsakorn Pimphapun made a precise shot to the right of Paiboon Phatthanasing. Chiang Mai Football Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 11-0. 60 minutes into the match, Chiang Mai Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Sadayut Thanateerasud came free, but Paiboon Phatthanasing reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thanasit Morpeak in the 61st minute of play forced Chiang Mai Football Club's goalkeeper Paiboon Phatthanasing to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paiboon Phatthanasing came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Olympique de Marseille's Thanasit Morpeak. But to his dismay, Thanasit Morpeak quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 12-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thanasit Morpeak in the 67th minute of play forced Chiang Mai Football Club's goalkeeper Paiboon Phatthanasing to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 69 minutes of play, Olympique de Marseille's Thanasit Morpeak made it 13-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paiboon Phatthanasing was left in no man's land by his defense there! Paiboon Phatthanasing made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pongsakorn Pimphapun in the 72nd minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, Chiang Mai Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Chanboon Saedan came free, but Paiboon Phatthanasing reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 75 minutes into the game, Thanasit Morpeak cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 14-0. Paiboon Phatthanasing was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Olympique de Marseille's Thanasit Morpeak got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 79 minutes into the match, Pongsakorn Pimphapun notched a goal, 15-0, to the right of Chiang Mai Football Club's Paiboon Phatthanasing. Paiboon Phatthanasing was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 87th minute, Sadayut Thanateerasud made a precise shot to the right of Paiboon Phatthanasing. Chiang Mai Football Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 17-0. Wisan Hangmui received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Carlo Petrini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chiang Mai Football Club's Paiboon Phatthanasing played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chanboon Saedan in the 92nd minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Pongsakorn Pimphapun had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paiboon Phatthanasing. Chiang Mai Football Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pongsakorn Pimphapun was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 18-0. When the referee ended the match the Olympique de Marseille players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
