Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nguyễn Hung started the match with the kick off. After having played for 10 minutes, Nguyễn Thien managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ninh Thuan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Thien was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tạ Tong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Hung, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the match, Hưng Yên's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Hung came free, but Tạ Tong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Trần Tran charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Trần Tran the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 17th match minute, Hưng Yên was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trần Tran to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Thien took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tạ Tong. Tạ Tong dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Nguyễn Hung managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ninh Thuan's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Hung was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tạ Tong breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nguyễn Hung received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Tạ Tong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tạ Tong didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nguyễn Hung went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. If Nguyễn Thien had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st match minute, Hưng Yên was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trần Tran to maneuver through the defense. Hưng Yên's Tạ Tong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Hung in the 42nd minute of play. In the 45th minute Nguyễn Thien shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tạ Tong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Nam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 50th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nguyễn Nam made a kick off. Huỳnh Khoi in the 55thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tạ Tong, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 58 played minutes Ninh Thuan got a freekick which was hit by Huỳnh Khoi. Dương Hoa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phạm Nhật Minh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 65 minutes into the match, Hưng Yên's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Hung came free, but Tạ Tong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tôn Thai's late challenge caught a Ninh Thuan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tôn Thai helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Hưng Yên getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Tôn Thai hit a great ball. After having played for 73 minutes, Nguyễn Thien managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ninh Thuan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Thien was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Nguyễn Nam came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Hưng Yên fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Nam couldn't finish the play. After 78 played minutes Ninh Thuan got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Van Tai Em. When Ninh Thuan's Nguyễn Hung in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hưng Yên's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ninh Thuan's zone, Phạm Nhật Minh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dương Hoa came out of the goal and Phạm Nhật Minh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87th minute, Nguyễn Nam ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dương Hoa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 93rdth minute of the game Nguyễn Hung who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hưng Yên's Tạ Tong was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Phạm Nhật Minh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Tôn Thai was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 98 minutes had been played. The supporters of Ninh Thuan booed when Hưng Yên was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 99 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tôn Thai didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Hưng Yên supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Ninh Thuan's performance. The match ended with a win for Ninh Thuan.
