Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nguyễn Ritchell got the match started through his kick off. In the 6th minute, Trần Hoang reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Hoàng Cong Vinh. The goal made the score 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Ritchell in the 8th minute of play forced Vinh's goalkeeper Hoàng Cong Vinh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hoàng Cong Vinh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Ritchell in the 10th minute of the match. In the 13thth minute of the game Triệu Tong who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Soc Trang's Phan Tuan Hoang was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Phan Tuan Hoang came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Vinh's Phan Quang. But to his dismay, Phan Quang quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Triệu Tong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Phan Tuan Hoang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Nguyễn Tran hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 29 played minutes, Vinh's Triệu Tong shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Phan Tuan Hoang came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vinh reached it. 29 minutes into the game, Văn Phuong was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Soc Trang's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vinh the free kick. In the 29th match minute, Soc Trang was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Văn Phuong to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 37 minutes, Nguyễn Ritchell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Soc Trang's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Ritchell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 39th minute Triệu Tong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phan Tuan Hoang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Trần Hoang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 43 minutes into the match, Soc Trang's goal looked a bit too open when Triệu Tong came free, but Phan Tuan Hoang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Phan Quang came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Vinh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phan Quang couldn't finish the play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Văn Phuong hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. 57 minutes into the match, Triệu Tong dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Phan Tuan Hoang, 2-2. Trần Hoang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hoàng Cong Vinh having to interfere. Phan Tuan Hoang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Văn Chi, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute, Triệu Tong got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 67th minute, Nguyễn Ritchell left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Soc Trang fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. A collision led to Vinh getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Nguyễn Binh hit a great ball. Phan Tuan Hoang came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Vinh's Triệu Tong. But to his dismay, Triệu Tong quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. The nice shot from Triệu Tong in the 81stth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Phan Tuan Hoang had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. In the 82nd minute of the match Vinh got a corner. Soc Trang's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Triệu Tong ran over to the corner to take the kick. Vinh's Triệu Tong was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Phan Tuan Hoang in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Trần Hoang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Triệu Tong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Văn Phuong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hoàng Cong Vinh having to interfere. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
