Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Trần Huỳnh was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 3rd minute. Thai Binh's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Trần Huỳnh hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. 11 minutes into the match, Trần Loc had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lê Dinh. Thai Binh's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Trần Loc was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 15 minutes into the match, Trần Loc notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Thai Binh's Lê Dinh. Lê Dinh was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Vi Thanh's zone, Lê Minh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Đào Quang Thanh came out of the goal and Lê Minh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Trần Ritchell in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lê Dinh prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Trần Ritchell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Lê Dinh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Đào Quang Thanh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trần Huỳnh, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. When the match clock showed 29 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Lê Quang sped through Thai Binh's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lê Dinh. Trần Ritchell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Lê Dinh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Trần Ritchell in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lê Dinh saved Thai Binh from getting behind. Trần Loc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Thai Binh players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Vi Thanh were winning 0-4.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Trần Huỳnh stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Đào Quang Thanh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trần Huỳnh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Thai Binh getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Trần Dung hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Trần Ritchell got free with Lê Dinh in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lê Minh's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Đào Quang Thanh read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Vi Thanh's Đào Quang Thanh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lê Minh in the 61st minute of play. When Lê Minh came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Thai Binh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lê Minh couldn't finish the play. If Trần Loc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Trần Ritchell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Dinh having to interfere. Trần Loc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 77 minutes into the game, Lê Quang was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vi Thanh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Thai Binh the free kick. Lê Dinh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trần Loc in the 94th minute of the match. The Thai Binh fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Vi Thanh were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
