Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Qui Nhon's Tôn Tran started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Qui Nhon's Trần Van Tai Em shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 4th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Nguyễn Hoang but with some difficulty. Phan Cadeo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ngô Tong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Phạm Hong kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Tôn Tran recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nguyễn Chung hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Trần Van Tai Em took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 17th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nguyễn Hoang. Phu Ly's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Huỳnh Tan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute, Trần Thuy reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nguyễn Hoang. The goal made the score 2-0. In the 32nd minute Tôn Tran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Hoang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Qui Nhon's Phan Cadeo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Huỳnh Tan in the 35th minute of play. If Ngô Tong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Trần Thuy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Nguyễn Hoang made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ngô Tong to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Huỳnh Tan got free with Phan Cadeo in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nguyễn Chung kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Tôn Tran got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Huỳnh Tan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Phan Cadeo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ngô Tong in the 70th minute of the match. In the 78thth minute of the game Trần Thuy who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Phu Ly's Nguyễn Hoang was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 78th match minute, Phu Ly was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trần Duong to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute Tôn Tran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Hoang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Huỳnh Tan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 86thth minute tested the skills of Phan Cadeo when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
