When Chung Tuyet came up free with the goalie in the 2nd minute, the Tuyen Quang fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chung Tuyet couldn't finish the play. Nguyễn Minh's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 6thth minute, Lê Nga skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Nguyễn Nguyet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lê Nga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nguyễn Nguyet's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Nguyễn Nguyet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Nga having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Son La's Phạm Tho got a free kick in the 24th minute. Phạm Duy was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 24th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Nguyễn Minh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Lê Nga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Nguyet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Nga having to interfere. Nguyễn Huỳnh charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Huỳnh the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Tuyen Quang getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Nguyễn Huỳnh hit a great ball. In the 48th minute, Phan Binh made a precise shot to the right of Lê Thuyet. Tuyen Quang's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The wind increased when Nguyễn Nguyet made the kick off in the second half. Lê Nga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Nguyet in the 54th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Son La defense, Nguyễn Nguyet kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lê Nga. The Son La fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lê Nga should have stopped the shot. After 59 played minutes Son La got a freekick which was hit by Phạm Tho. Nguyễn Minh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Nga having to interfere. In the 62nd match minute, Son La was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Phuc to maneuver through the defense. 64 minutes into the game, Tuyen Quang's Nguyễn Minh nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lê Nga made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. A collision led to Son La getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Phạm Tho hit a great ball. Phạm Duy, 69 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Son La's Lê Nga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Nguyet in the 72nd minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, Son La's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Nguyet came free, but Lê Nga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, Tuyen Quang's Nguyễn Minh sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lê Nga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lê Nga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Nguyet in the 81st minute of play. Nguyễn Minh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Lê Nga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Trần Thanh kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Son La's Lê Nga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Nguyet in the 93rd minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Tuyen Quang had played much better football throughout.
