Hồ Tu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Võ Phu in the 7th minute. A collision led to Quang Ngai getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Nguyễn Minh-ha hit a great ball. 16 minutes into the match, Quang Ngai's goalkeeper Hồ Tu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Võ Phu. In the 20th minute of the match Phan Phong sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ngô Nhật Minh skillfully saved the ball. Triệu Dinh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ngô Nhật Minh having to interfere. Quang Ngai's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Đinh Minh 29 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Võ Phu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Hồ Tu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Võ Phu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 50th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hồ Tu having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Triệu Dinh was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Triệu Dinh in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ngô Nhật Minh saved Ben Tre from getting behind. Lê Viet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lê Viet who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 79thth minute tested the skills of Ngô Nhật Minh when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Đinh Minh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hồ Tu having to interfere. Lê Viet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ngô Nhật Minh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Triệu Dinh, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Võ Phu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
