Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Trần Hoang kicked off to start the match. Nguyễn Thanh Bình fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Hieu Ngan having to interfere. After having played for 9 minutes, Lý Bay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nam Dinh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lý Bay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phạm Quang in the 17th minute of play forced Nam Dinh's goalkeeper Lê Phuong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 19 played minutes Gia Nghia got a freekick which was hit by Bùi Hieu Ngan. In the 20th minute Danilo Huezo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trần Hieu Ngan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Danilo Huezo might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Trần Hieu Ngan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Danilo Huezo ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 25th minute, Trần Hoang got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nguyễn Duy's late challenge caught a Nam Dinh's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nguyễn Duy helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Nam Dinh booed when Gia Nghia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Duy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Danilo Huezo struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Trần Hieu Ngan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nam Dinh. With a little luck, Gia Nghia's Trần Hieu Ngan got control of the ball when Lý Bay tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 31st minute, Danilo Huezo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Trần Hieu Ngan. The goal made the score 1-0. Lê Phuong came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Gia Nghia's Phạm Quang. But to his dismay, Phạm Quang quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Lê Phuong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Duy in the 39th minute of the match. Lý Bay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Trần Hieu Ngan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danilo Huezo in the 47th minute of play forced Gia Nghia's goalkeeper Trần Hieu Ngan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Lý Bay made the kick off in the second half. Danilo Huezo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Trần Hieu Ngan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. After having played for 53 minutes, Danilo Huezo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Danilo Huezo took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Trần Hieu Ngan. Trần Hieu Ngan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Bùi Lan hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Huỳnh Liem lost his temper 60 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 59 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gia Nghia! In the 62nd minute there was a penalty for Nam Dinh. Đỗ Viet stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Trần Hieu Ngan. 3-1. In the 67th minute, Đoàn Nam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 67 minutes into the match, Gia Nghia's goal looked a bit too open when Danilo Huezo came free, but Trần Hieu Ngan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Gia Nghia's zone, Lý Bay stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trần Hieu Ngan came out of the goal and Lý Bay tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Trần Hieu Ngan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danilo Huezo, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Nam Dinh's Nguyễn Anh Hung was substituted for Nguyễn Thanh Bình. Phạm Quang's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Lê Phuong firmly grabbed it by the left post. The supporters of Nam Dinh booed when Gia Nghia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Đoàn Nam didn't get a good kick on the ball. Danilo Huezo took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Trần Hieu Ngan. Trần Hieu Ngan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Trần Hieu Ngan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lý Bay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 93rd minute Đỗ Viet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trần Hieu Ngan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Danilo Huezo scored 5-1 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Trần Hieu Ngan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nam Dinh walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
