Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Mui Ne's Trần Quang Thanh started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nguyễn Thai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from La Tan in the 4th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nguyễn Dung in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nguyễn Tấn Dũng saved Mui Ne from getting behind. Hoàng Dung kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Nguyễn Minh recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. La Tan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute, Trần Quang Thanh ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nguyễn Thai was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Son La's Nguyễn Minh suffered a sore thigh after 47 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Hoàng Hong's late challenge caught a Son La's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hoàng Hong helped the player get up and apologised.
The supporters of Son La booed when Mui Ne was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Minh-ha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nguyễn Thai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trần Quang Thanh, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 83rdth minute of the game Trần Quang Thanh who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Son La's Nguyễn Thai was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vương Minh Phượng during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 86th match minute, Mui Ne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vương Minh Phượng to maneuver through the defense. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Son La. Đặng Hieu shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. With a little luck, Son La's Nguyễn Thai got control of the ball when La Tan tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, La Tan took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Nguyễn Thai to make any attempt to save it. Mui Ne's La Tan got a good chance for a goal in the 100th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
