The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 8 minutes into the game, VNFriends GC's 鲁坚洲 nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tạ Bien made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. VNFriends GC's Nguyễn Ritchell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trần Loc in the 13th minute of play. Tạ Bien took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 鲁坚洲, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 17 minutes, Emran Cambaz made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Chu Son's Tạ Bien tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When 鲁坚洲 came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the VNFriends GC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that 鲁坚洲 couldn't finish the play. 22 minutes into the game, Danny McEachin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VNFriends GC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chu Son the free kick. In the 23rd minute, Danny McEachin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 25th minute, when Chu Son's Nghiêm Huỳnh after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Nguyễn Ritchell in VNFriends GC's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. The supporters of VNFriends GC booed when Chu Son was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Hong didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Chu Son getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Phan Than hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Chu Son defense, 鲁坚洲 kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tạ Bien. The Chu Son fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tạ Bien should have stopped the shot. Danny McEachin struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Tạ Bien didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VNFriends GC. With a couple of smart ball manuevers 鲁坚洲 in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tạ Bien saved Chu Son from getting behind. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell 鲁坚洲 to make the kick off. Tạ Bien came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by VNFriends GC's 鲁坚洲. But to his dismay, 鲁坚洲 quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emran Cambaz in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tạ Bien saved Chu Son from getting behind. Phạm Pham was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 64 minutes into the match. In the 65th minute there was a penalty for VNFriends GC. 鲁坚洲 stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Tạ Bien. 0-6. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, 鲁坚洲 managed to get in a good position for a shot. VNFriends GC's supporters rose to their feet, but 鲁坚洲 was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tạ Bien breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Chu Son defense, 鲁坚洲 kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tạ Bien. The Chu Son fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tạ Bien should have stopped the shot. Emran Cambaz might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tạ Bien. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emran Cambaz ran back to his position shaking his head. 鲁坚洲 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Hoàng Tu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tạ Bien. That made the score 0-8 in the 90 minute of play. Tạ Bien took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emran Cambaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When VNFriends GC's Emran Cambaz in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Chu Son's goalie prevented a goal. In the 98th minute, Emran Cambaz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Chu Son supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching VNFriends GC's performance. The match ended with a win for VNFriends GC.
