Phạm Tan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trần Lan in the 6th minute of the match. After 7 played minutes Quang Ngai got a freekick which was hit by Hoàng Duong. After 10 played minutes Quang Ngai got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Duy. When Nguyễn Nhật Minh fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Quang Ngai's protests and gave Nguyễn Nhật Minh a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of DIT ME CHUNG MAY booed when Quang Ngai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Nhật Minh didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Quang Ngai's goalkeeper Phạm Tan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Quang Ngai's Phạm Tan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hồ Duc in the 15th minute of play. If Nguyễn Lien had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 32 minutes, Lê Tong mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the DIT ME CHUNG MAY and the Quang Ngai players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 39th minute, Nguyễn Lien got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 41 minutes into the match, DIT ME CHUNG MAY's goalkeeper Nguyễn Hong had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nguyễn Lien. Quang Ngai's Phùng Ho got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Phạm Hung's late challenge caught a Quang Ngai's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Phạm Hung helped the player get up and apologised. 45 minutes into the game, one of DIT ME CHUNG MAY:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hồ Duc stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, DIT ME CHUNG MAY's Nguyễn Hung got a free kick in the 58th minute. Quang Ngai's Nguyễn Van Tai Em couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 59th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for DIT ME CHUNG MAY. Nguyễn Hong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Lien, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nguyễn Lien sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Duy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Hong having to interfere. A collision led to Quang Ngai getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Nguyễn Duy hit a great ball. 95 minutes into the game, Phùng Ho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Nguyễn Hong was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Quang Ngai's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
