Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) After 6 minutes, Phùng Ho made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Ba Ria's Phạm Nguyet tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Quang Ngai's zone, Nguyễn Huynh Duc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Phạm Tan came out of the goal and Nguyễn Huynh Duc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 13th match minute, Quang Ngai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Duy to maneuver through the defense. If Nguyễn Lien had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 19th minute Phùng Ho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phạm Nguyet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Quang Ngai's Hoàng Duong got a free kick in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Võ Duc in the 27th minute of play forced Quang Ngai's goalkeeper Phạm Tan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Huynh Duc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Phạm Tan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Quang Ngai's Phạm Tan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Võ Duc in the 31st minute of play. Nguyễn Nam hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Phạm Tan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Võ Duc in the 33rd minute of play. Nguyễn Nhật Minh kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Phạm Tan came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Ba Ria's Nguyễn Huynh Duc. But to his dismay, Nguyễn Huynh Duc quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nguyễn Huynh Duc to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Phùng Ho in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Phạm Nguyet prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 58 minutes into the game, Phan Cadeo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ba Ria's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Quang Ngai the free kick. Phan Cadeo kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Nguyễn Lien fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phạm Nguyet having to interfere. In the 66thth minute of the game Phùng Ho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ba Ria's Phạm Nguyet was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nguyễn Lien sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Quang Ngai booed when Ba Ria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trần Huynh Duc didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Nguyễn Lien came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Quang Ngai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Lien couldn't finish the play. The long shot by Nguyễn Tuan Hoang in the 78th minute really tested Phạm Tan's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 82nd minute, Nguyễn Lien got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Phạm Nguyet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Lien in the 89th minute of the match. Phạm Nguyet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phùng Ho, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
