The supporters of Ba Ria booed when Binh Phuoc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phạm Hung didn't get a good kick on the ball. Phạm Hung's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Phạm Nguyet read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Trần Hanh kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Phạm Hung sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute Phan Cadeo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trần Tinh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Binh Phuoc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ba Ria the free kick. Phạm Hung kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. In the 40th minute, Huỳnh Cuc ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Phạm Nguyet was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Trần Tuyet was the one to do the kick off. Phạm Nguyet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phạm Hung in the 52nd minute of the match. Bùi Mai charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bùi Mai the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 55 played minutes Ba Ria got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Tran. Trần Tuyet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Phạm Hung might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Phạm Nguyet. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Phạm Hung ran back to his position shaking his head. Lê Thuy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phạm Nguyet having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Võ Duc got free with Trần Tinh in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 65th minute, Phạm Hung left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Binh Phuoc fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 69th minute, Huỳnh Cuc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Ba Ria's Nguyễn Hoang got a free kick in the 75th minute. 79 minutes into the match, Binh Phuoc's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Huynh Duc came free, but Trần Tinh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Ba Ria defense, Phạm Hung kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Phạm Nguyet. The Ba Ria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Phạm Nguyet should have stopped the shot. In the 83rd minute Trần Tuyet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phạm Nguyet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th minute, Nguyễn Huynh Duc reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Trần Tinh. The goal made the score 3-1. In the 89th match minute, Binh Phuoc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, Ba Ria's Trần Tinh threw himself towards the right post 96 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nguyễn Huynh Duc, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Binh Phuoc's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
