Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Phạm Hung in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lê Ho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lê Liem in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lê Ho saved Binh Duong from getting behind. Binh Duong's Lê Ho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lê Liem in the 29th minute of play. Trần Dong kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Lê Ho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lê Liem, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Lê Nguyet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Tuan Hoang in the 35th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nguyễn Dong got free with Lê Nguyet in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 41st minute Lê Liem shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Ho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 44 minutes Binh Duong's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lê Quang Thanh who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Lê Quang Thanh got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Lê Ho quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Phạm Hung sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Nguyễn Tuan Hoang made the kick off in the second half. Phu Yen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lê Liem was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 81 minutes in the game, Phạm Hung fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Lê Ho having to interfere.
