Võ Chi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dương Hieu, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Ngô Phuc was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 20th minute. Da Lat's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After a rather tough play, Thai Binh's Nguyễn Cadeo got a free kick in the 35th minute. When Da Lat's Ngô Phuc in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Thai Binh's goalie prevented a goal. Nguyễn Cadeo kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. In the 44th minute, Da Lat's Ngô Phuc dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

If Tạ Hung had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Thai Binh getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Nguyễn Cadeo hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nguyễn Loc during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nguyễn Loc kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. In the 63rd minute, Tạ Hung fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Võ Chi, passed just outside the right post. Dương Hieu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Võ Chi having to interfere. Hoàng Cong Vinh struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Lê Tuan Hoang didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Da Lat. After 75 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Da Lat! Võ Chi went to the wrong direction when Nguyễn Liem was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 87th minute Dương Hieu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Võ Chi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ngô Phuc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ngô Phuc in the 100th minute of play forced Thai Binh's goalkeeper Lê Tuan Hoang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
