Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Mui Ne's Hồ Thanh started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Hồ Thanh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Trần Viet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hồ Thanh's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. Huỳnh Quang took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tôn Chi. Tôn Chi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Hồ Thanh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Mui Ne's Lê Chi got a free kick in the 10th minute. After having played for 12 minutes, Hồ Thanh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mui Ne's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hồ Thanh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Phan Tan hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Nguyễn Hung's late challenge caught a Mui Ne's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nguyễn Hung helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Mui Ne booed when Quang Ngai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Hung didn't get a good kick on the ball. The nice shot from Huỳnh Quang in the 21stth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Tôn Chi had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. If Hồ Thanh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hồ Thanh's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Trần Viet read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. 3-0 became the score in the 26th minute when Nguyễn Hung elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Nguyễn Van Quyen hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Mui Ne's Nguyễn Tan got a free kick in the 34th minute. Huỳnh Quang took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tôn Chi. Tôn Chi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. After a defensive mix-up in Quang Ngai's zone, Hồ Thanh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trần Viet came out of the goal and Hồ Thanh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tôn Chi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Huỳnh Quang in the 45th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hoàng Mai stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hoàng Mai took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tôn Chi. Tôn Chi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. In the 61st minute, Hoàng Mai left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Quang Ngai fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. After 64 played minutes Quang Ngai got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Hung. After a defensive mix-up in Quang Ngai's zone, Hồ Thanh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trần Viet came out of the goal and Hồ Thanh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tôn Chi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hoàng Mai in the 69th minute of the match. Tôn Chi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Huỳnh Quang in the 70th minute of play. Hồ Thanh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Viet having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Huỳnh Quang in the 78th minute of play forced Mui Ne's goalkeeper Tôn Chi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79thth minute of the game Hồ Thanh who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Quang Ngai's Trần Viet was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Mui Ne's Ngô Dong slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Trần Viet. That made the score 6-1 after 81 minutes of play. Tôn Chi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Huỳnh Quang in the 90th minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, Phùng Minh notched a goal, 7-1, to the right of Mui Ne's Tôn Chi. Tôn Chi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Quang Ngai were victorious despite being under pressure from Mui Ne for much of the match.
