Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 5 minutes into the match, Việt Nam's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Loc came free, but Đặng Liem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nguyễn Nhật Minhs short, quick shot in the 8thth minute got Phan Nam to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Đặng Liem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Dong in the 10th minute of play. Phan Nam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nghiêm Tu in the 15th minute of play. Phan Nam took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nghiêm Tu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ha Tay's Nguyễn Loc got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Đặng Liem showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Thuyet, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Nguyễn Loc managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ha Tay's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Loc was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Đặng Liem breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Ha Tay's Phạm Lan in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Việt Nam's goalie prevented a goal. Nguyễn Loc took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Đặng Liem. Đặng Liem dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
The wind increased when Nghiêm Tu made the kick off in the second half. Nguyễn Loc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Đặng Liem having to interfere. Phan Nam stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nguyễn Nhật Minh's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Phan Nam came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Việt Nam's Nghiêm Tu. But to his dismay, Nghiêm Tu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Loc in the 63rd minute of play forced Việt Nam's goalkeeper Đặng Liem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Việt Nam getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Võ Tuan Hoang hit a great ball. After having played for 71 minutes, Nguyễn Loc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ha Tay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Loc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nghiêm Tu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phan Nam having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Ha Tay's Phan Phuc sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Đặng Liem narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Phạm Lan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Phan Nam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Nhật Minh in the 91st minute of the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
