Phan Tu hit a great ball. When Huỳnh Quang came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Quang Ngai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Huỳnh Quang couldn't finish the play. 20 minutes into the match, PSG's goal looked a bit too open when Hoàng Mai came free, but Nguyễn Lan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Trần Viet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trần Nghiêm-Minh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute of the match, Trịnh Van Quyen got a very nice opportunity to score, but Trần Viet was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of PSG booed when Quang Ngai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phan Ritchell didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trần Nghiêm-Minh in the 41st minute of play forced Quang Ngai's goalkeeper Trần Viet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Quang Ngai's Trần Viet got control of the ball when Trịnh Van Quyen tried to sneak it across the goal line.
