In the 5th minute Đinh Van Quyen suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Nguyễn Lien's late challenge caught a Nam Dinh's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nguyễn Lien helped the player get up and apologised. After 5 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for PSG! 11 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Minh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nam Dinh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PSG the free kick. Trần Nghiêm-Minh struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Nguyễn Hieu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PSG. In the 17th minute, Trịnh Van Quyen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nguyễn Hieu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After having played for 21 minutes, Trần Nghiêm-Minh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PSG's supporters crossed their fingers, but Trần Nghiêm-Minh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Huỳnh Khoi fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nam Dinh's protests and gave Huỳnh Khoi a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of PSG booed when Nam Dinh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Huỳnh Khoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Nam Dinh's goal looked a bit too open when Trần Nghiêm-Minh came free, but Nguyễn Hieu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 27 minutes, Trần Dung mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nam Dinh and the PSG players grew even worse after the yellow card. Phan Tuan, 28 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Trần Duc to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, PSG's Phan Tuan got a free kick in the 50th minute. After a defensive mix-up in PSG's zone, Trần Duc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Lan came out of the goal and Trần Duc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Trần Duc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Trần Duc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Lan having to interfere. 87 minutes into the match, Nam Dinh's goal looked a bit too open when Bùi Tuyet came free, but Nguyễn Hieu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
